Death of a Scenester is seeking submissions for ISSUE number 4!
It’s a heady world we live in at the moment: natural disasters, world leaders attempting to find a cure, and ultimately the selfishness of the human race. There is a hell of a lot of action going on and it’s time to put pen to paper and express your subliminal and/or conscious creativity.
Death of a Scenester wants, as always, your delicious wordiness. We are tremendously pleased to announce the theme for upcoming Issue 4 of Death of a Scenester — ANIMAL! (Of course, all of Death of a Scenester’s themes are very loose and aim to serve as a starting off point for all our contributors!)
The zournal is in black and white. Keep in mind a page length of maximum 4 x A5 pages for each contribution. And while our compass is always oriented towards a more TEXTual magnetic north, we encourage collaboration and illustration!
We’re doing something a little different this time: in aims of ensuring we have a healthy balance of politicised non-fiction pieces, 5 slots will be purely reserved for this type of content. We’d prefer text but art is more than welcome too. We encourage wildly-inappropriate political and cultural comment, so stop at nothing. This is your chance to appease that burgeoning rant you have about the carbon tax or the 20th Friends of Couture store in your neighbourhood. If you have a little trouble with the style or content, we are here for you to bounce ideas off.
Are you wanting to write about the wild and untamed or the placid and nonchalant? Do you have an animal instinct? Get in touch with us at email@example.com with your proposal for a piece for Issue 4. Above all, we want to encourage people to write and have fun, to explore what they can achieve when they set pen to paper.
Take the theme word anywhere you like and get back to us with a short proposal by July 25 and we will keep you in the loop about the acceptance of your proposal by July 28. Due to an expected large number of contributions we must advise that not all pieces will be accepted for publication. So give us your idea before you slave away for weeks getting it together. That said, if you have received this email you have already caught our eye as a potential contributor to this issue. We will then need final pieces to us by August 31, 2011 so we can get it ready for the launch party on 29 October.
